Wire wrapping is another jewelry technique that, with a little practice is easily mastered by beginners.
Cut a 5" piece of 24 to 28 gauge wire that is not nylon coated.
Place chain nose pliers 1" from either end of wire and push away at a 90 degree angle.
Place the round nose pliers on the top. Keep in mind that where you position the wire on the pliers will affect the size of the loop. Fold the wire over the top and down so that both ends are parallel.
Place the loop in the lower jaw of the round nosed pliers.
Point the short wire away at a 90 degree angle.
Grab the loop with a bent nose plier in your non dominant hand and simply wrap the wire using the chain nose pliers.
Clip the wire and tuck in the end using the chain nose pliers. At this point slip on a bead and grasp the wire close to the bead. Point the wire away at a 90 degree angle. Place the round nose pliers on the top. Fold the wire over the top and down so that both ends are parallel.
Slip the loop into the lower jaw of the pliers and again point the wire away at a 90 degree angle.
At this point you can slide the feather onto your loop. Holding the feather end firmly in your non dominant hand finish the wire wrap.
